Position Summary

The Director, Business Insights and Analytics will report to the Assistant Vice President, Head of Business Excellence & Commercial Operations and will play a central role in building Rocket’s insights and analytics capabilities for its portfolio of gene therapies, with a prominent focus on rare cardiology.

 

This individual will lead integrated business insights, disease-state modeling, patient-identification analytics, forecasting, and market-development analytics to support Rocket’s strategy in rare and genetically defined cardiomyopathies. The role requires a leader who can synthesize complex insights, develop disease models with advanced analytics, and shape clear data-driven recommendations that enable the organization to focus market-development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in leading and executing the development of business insights and analytics strategy for Rocket’s portfolio of gene therapies for rare and genetically defined cardiomyopathies.
  • Lead forecasting for pipeline gene therapy assets. Develop and apply robust disease-modeling and forecasting approaches to estimate market size, patient segments, addressable populations, and treatment-eligible populations in rare genetic cardiomyopathies using data science, advanced modeling techniques, and integration of genotype- and phenotype-based approaches.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously refine a novel rare cardiology data and analytics platform designed to help Rocket drive diagnosis of genetic cardiomyopathies and enable field-based colleagues to focus their market-development efforts.
  • Lead integrated secondary-data analytics and primary market research approaches to better understand diagnostic pathways and barriers to patient identification and navigation, with the objective of helping shape and prioritize disease education and market-development opportunities.
  • Integrate real-world data, primary market research, field-based insights, and market intelligence into a connected analytics platform.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and scientific curiosity to data mining, insight generation, and integration of fragmented rare-disease evidence across multiple sources, including real-world data, literature, expert input, field-based insights, and emerging analytics tools.
  • Identify novel approaches to insight mining, including advanced analytics, data science, generative AI, machine learning-enabled evidence synthesis, and creative methods for translating complex signals into actionable insights.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and field-based colleagues to define key strategic questions, identify knowledge gaps, and develop integrated approaches to address those needs through analytics, novel market research, secondary data, real-world evidence, external and field insights, and market intelligence.
  • Partner with IT, data vendors, and external analytics partners to establish scalable systems, platforms, dashboards, and recurring insight-generation processes.
  • Oversee efficient and compliant use of market research, analytics, and data investment budgets, including adherence to privacy, adverse-event reporting, country procedures, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MPH, MS, PhD, PharmD, MD, or another advanced degree in business, analytics, epidemiology, public health, life sciences, data science, statistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 12 years of relevant biopharma experience, including business insights, analytics, forecasting, epidemiology, market research, real-world data analytics, strategic insights, or related functions.
  • Experience in rare disease, gene therapy, cardiology, cardiovascular medicine is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience in disease modeling, epidemiology modeling, forecasting, advanced analytics, market research, and integration of complex data sources to support strategic decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of market research techniques, including qualitative and quantitative research approaches.
  • Experience with advanced analytics techniques, including real-world data analytics, claims/EHR analytics, patient-identification approaches, and forecasting models; preference for candidates who can leverage machine learning, generative AI, and other emerging data science tools to accelerate insight generation and modeling.
  • Experience building or managing integrated analytics platforms, data engines, dashboards, or recurring insight-generation processes.
  • Strong functional leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, innovative mindset, and ability to create structure in areas where data are incomplete, fragmented, or evolving.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaborative approach and ability to partner effectively.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with excellent project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead multiple complex projects and priorities.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to move from high-level questions to detailed implementation, assumptions, analytics design, and decision-ready outputs.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex analytics, epidemiology models, disease-modeling assumptions clearly to leadership and cross-functional audiences.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $196,000 to $261,000.

We are committed to compensating employees equitably based on several factors, including responsibilities and level of the position, depth and types of the employee’s experience, location of the position and availability of similar talent in a competitive market.

 

For U.S.-based candidates, this is an at-will position, and Rocket reserves the right to adjust the range at hire or during the year due to market shifts.

 

In addition to base salary, Rocket offers a competitive total rewards package that may include bonuses (short-term incentives), medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k) with company match and generous vesting, paid vacation and holidays, global shutdown days between Christmas and New Year’s, and a variety of wellness resources and employee support programs. Also, certain positions are eligible for added forms of compensation, such equity awards (long-term incentives).
