Rocket Pharmaceuticals is offering a paid 10-week summer internship for university students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotechnology environment. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals dedicated to advancing curative gene therapies for patients with devastating diseases.
This intern position will be responsible for supporting the Process Engineering and Facilities groups. The intern will gain experience working with vendors and contractors, ability to read and understand P&ID Engineering drawings and maintaining inventory in an organized way. In addition, this position will gain valuable facilities experience by supporting other engineering projects on-site.
• Help develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for facility systems and operations.
• Conduct time studies, process mapping, and workflow analyses.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with maintenance and improvement projects for building systems.
• Support ongoing facility upgrades and modifications, including drawing updates and documentation.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving for facility issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to execute projects successfully.
• Rising junior or senior undergrad BS majoring in engineering, project management or computer science
• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements.
• Great organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently
• Exposure to chemical, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries. Familiarity with EHS guidelines and safety practices in a biopharmaceutical setting is a plus
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders
