Position Summary

The Legal Contracts Specialist role is a dynamic position reporting to the Legal Contracts Manager supporting the Rocket Legal Function and Business Development team, involving frequent interaction and collaboration with company leadership and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration.
  • Maintain functionality of Contracts Management System.
  • Serve as a point of contact for input and information from Contract Management System.
  • Provide regular updates of key contract deadlines / auto-renewals / projected expirations.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on the status of the contracts.
  • Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension or renewal according to what’s best for the company.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Support maintenance of library of standardized form documents, contract clauses, and templates.
  • Drafting, review and negotiation of basic agreements from Company templates such as confidentiality agreements, service agreements.
  • General administrative and operational assistance for Legal, Compliance and Corporate Secretary functions, and any other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 4 years of legal administrator, corporate paralegal, or contracts management experience in an in- house environment, preferably at a life-sciences company.
  • Significant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree requirement.
  • Prior significant experience with a contract management system, experience with Plexus a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks/projects.
  • A strong sense of professionalism and discretion.
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.
  • Enthusiastic and open to learning new subject matters.
