Position Summary

The Vice President, AAV Global Program Head is accountable for the development and commercialization strategy of the AAV platform.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a cross-functional team of functional leaders and teams to drive the development and execution of all AAV programs’ strategy.
  • Partners closely with Chief Medical Officer and other key stake holders including investigators, academic researchers and partners to develop overall disease area strategies and advise research efforts ranging from early development to life-cycle management.
  • Drives global development, worldwide regulatory approvals, market access, and optimized commercial value and is accountable for timelines and budget.
  • Provides strong and consistent support to Rocket’s Leadership Team and participates in essential management initiatives designed to shape the structure and processes of the organization.
  • Develops a compelling, innovative vision and strategy for each program
  • Creates and effectively manages program budget.
  • Develops, drives, and executes program strategy through management of high-performing, integrated cross-functional team.
  • Contributes to key communication strategies for external communications -- including scientific communications and investor relations -- regarding the programs, in collaboration with the relevant subject matter experts and medical/scientific leadership
  • Actively coaches and partners team members to create individual development plans and conduct performance management discussions in partnership with relevant line-function heads

Qualifications

  • Must has have an advanced degree (MD, PharmD or PhD) and a minimum of 10-15 years of drug development experience, including experience leading global programs and teams including health authority submission experience. Proven ability to provide leadership for multidisciplinary teams and to seek innovative and actionable solutions to complex development challenges.
  • Ability to achieve a scientific and clinical understanding of relevant disorders on AAV platforms and to differentiate and articulate applicable development approaches
  • Consistent track record of successful drug development in complex and life-threatening therapeutic areas
  • Experience in conducting clinical studies and filing new molecular entity
