Position Summary

The Director, IT - ePMO and Business Transformation will work closely with IT and business leaders to guide the ongoing delivery of technical innovation, project and program management and continuous improvement initiatives from concept through execution.

 

The leader will partner across the organization to drive PMO processes, standards, and capability improvements to offer predictable delivery of projects and programs for our organization. The leader will oversee continuous improvement activities (i.e. Lean Six Sigma) around program delivery and raising the maturity for our program delivery discipline. The leader will use mixed project management methodologies (i.e. Agile, SDLC), together to keep projects in scope, on budget and delivered on time. The ideal candidate demonstrates not only continuous excellence in project and program management but also actively drives initiatives to mature processes, outcomes, and services within the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the enterprise PMO function providing oversight for the successful planning and execution of projects, programs and portfolio development for enterprise acceleration including prioritizing projects, implementing innovative solutions, and managing change to boost business impact and operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic leadership in defining and enforcing IT governance standards, frameworks, and best practices for consistency and scalability across the organization.
  • Develop and oversee a global dashboard providing comprehensive IT reports, including KPIs, SLAs, financials, and other project portfolio metrics.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive set of PMO practices, tools, and templates for portfolio, program, and project-level management.
  • Own the master schedule tracking and reporting on implementation efforts, including project and program milestones, dependencies, and the IT Master Plan.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional IT projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and meeting defined scope and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain consistency in project planning, monitor progress, and proactively address issues or risks that may impact project success.
  • Lead the selection process for technology solutions, guide the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, and assess the most suitable vendors based on business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, overseeing contracts in collaboration with Procurement and Legal departments, and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, risks, and achievements to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and ensure project outcomes align with business needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, optimization, and automation, leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including AI and Machine Learning.
  • Identify and drive improvements in the portfolio level processes to increase product quality, program cycle time, and development costs, while continuously looking for improvements in visual management to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success.
  • Mentor and lead project management team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or similar STEM concentration. MBA\MS a plus.
  • 12 years of IT\PMO leadership experience with business process management, applications delivery, development, design, configuration, release management, validation, operations, governance, production, and support expertise within a complex pharma\biotechnology setting.
  • Understanding and experience in rare disease space is an advantage.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP and\or Lean Six Sigma are preferred.
  • Proven track record in project and program management, expertise in financial management, resource management, and organizational change management methodologies and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems architecture, governance frameworks, and industry best practices. Multi-disciplinary information, process, data, and technology background covering engineering, architecture, automation, integration, data management, advanced analytics, cloud, and others.
  • Understanding of purchasing, budgeting, and planning processes, experience with IT contracts management.
  • Strategic, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, especially in managing IT systems in a complex business environment.
